A pristine and top quality pillow sham loomed of a weighty and excellent quality of pure white "fil de lin" linen. This very pretty piece has a central monogram "LD" executed in a lovely scrolling script and embroidered in a perfect bourdon with little flowers embellishing each letter. A large 3.25in. lacy scalloped border of very finely made crochet lace surrounds the sham and it closes at the back with seven mother-of-pearl buttons. Impeccable, possibly never used condition. Late 19th to early 20th c. Dimensions: exterior 34 x 31.5in., interior 26 x 25.5in
