An exquisitely beautiful, large and delicate handkerchief loomed of a pure white and very fine linen batiste. This lovely piece is graced with extraordinary embroidery - a very fancy monogram "LP" embroidered in miniscule points of plumetis and post point with an unusual relief and embellished with the tiniest of flowers and leaves, as well as a border of equally exquisite flowers which frame the edge. A tiny hemstitch finishes the piece with a 1.5in. border. Late 19th century. Excellent condition save one tiny hole in the batiste (visible at the bottom left of the first photo) and a tiny faint yellow spot next to the monogram (much lighter and more subtle than it appears in the photos).
