A magnificently refined sheet loomed of a very high quality blend of pure white "fil de lin" linen and cotton. This beautiful piece features a large and stately central monogram, "FM," very finely embroidered in bourdon and post point and embellished with exquisitely embroidered beads and a sprig of holly. The theme of holly leaves and berries is carried over in the elegant design of the return, featuring sprigs of holly on either side of two triple bands of drawn thread work, all of which continues for a full 40 inches of the height of the return. A masterful piece in every respect, this sheet likely dates from the early to mid 20th century and is in new, never used condition. Dimensions: 132 x 90.5in.
