A very pretty as well as very elegant pair of pure white "fil de lin" pillow shams with an exquisitely embroidered monogram "SC" or "CS" in one corner of each sham. The letters, embroidered in fine bourdon and post point, are entwined and superimposed. A fancy row of crossed drawn thread embroidery creates an inner frame with a sweet embroidered flower in each of its four corners, and a delicate hemstitch finishes the edges. These lovely shams likely date from the early 20th century and are in impeccable, as-new condition. Dimensions: interior 28 x 26in., exterior 32 x 30in.
