A bright white and beautifully decorative pair of pillow shams loomed of a crisp and luxurious cotton percale. These beautiful shams have an elaborately scalloped and hand embroidered border with leafy sprigs in English cutwork decorating the interior of each scallop. A very fancy monogram, "TL," is embroidered in one corner with an outline in bourdon stitch filled with post point pearls, and the letters are each ornamented with tiny embroidered wheat ears. The four corners of each sham are also embroidered with sprays of lilies, and the shams fasten at the back with five mother-of-pearl buttons. This pretty pair of shams likely dates from the early to mid 20th century and is in impeccable condition. Dimensions: interior 24.5 x 23in., exterior 30 x 28.5in.
