Tablethrow

A superb table throw as luxurious as it's beautiful! This stunning piece, very likely dating from the pre-war period of 1930 - 1940, is made of a heavy silk and wool brocade with a dominant deep peach color ground and a sensual motif of large open roses in various tones of pink, red, green and bronze. The silk has a subtle sheen and, as can be seen in the photos, the colors shift slightly according to the way the light falls on the fabric. A magnificent border of multi-tone knotted fringe terminating in fat little tassles finishes the four sides of the throw and adds a spectacularly decorative touch. This very beautiful table throw is in relatively excellent condition. There is only of note two small areas of wear which are practically invisible in the overall pattern and one tiny black trace measuring about half an inch (and which could probably be removed professionally). Dimensions: 73 x 67in.
