A stunning and rare King Size antique sheet with a magnificently embroidered monogram "ML" or "LM." This beautiful sheet is loomed of some of the finest medium weight pure white linen, crisp to the touch, very fluid and with a beautiful, silky drape. The central monogram, measuring 9 x 8.5 inches, has masterfully embroidered scrolling letters M and L, executed in an impressive relief of bourdon and superimposed such that each letter is twined around the other in an intricately woven design. A beautifully open worked drawn thread row runs all along the length of the return border and finishes the hem of the sheet with an elegant, lace-like touch. This sheet, one of the rare examples of an antique king size sheet, is of the absolute highest quality and was very likely created for nobility. Impeccable condition. Late 19th to early 20th century.
