A precious fancy antique baby dress in embroidered tulle and lace that could also serve as a Christening gown for an infant of three to nine months. This very refined little creation is entirely hand made of a delicate pure white cotton tulle with inset bands of Valenciennes lace in the bodice and short puffed sleeves, and medallions of embroidered rosebuds and ribbons that circle the bottom of the flounced skirt. Tiny pin tucks in the bodice, skirt and tops of the sleeves create a subtle ribbing and the hem is cut in broad scallops that are dotted with embroidered "pearls" and edged in a ruffle of Valenciennes lace. The sleeves as well as the neckline are also bordered in lace. Likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, this delightful little dress is in impeccable condition. Dimensions: overall length 25in., width between the shoulders 8.5in., width across the bodice 10in., length of the sleeves 6.5in. Suitable for an infant of three to nine months.
