Loomed of an airy white linen batiste, it's entirely hand-made and hand embroidered. Vertical panels of floral English cutwork embroidery and tiny pin-tuck pleats alternate with fine bands of Valenciennes lace throughout the body of the dress. The high waist, sleeves and neckline are all edged with lace, and a wide scalloped flounce, also embroidered with floral English cutwork, decorates the hem of the skirt. The dress closes at the back with a series of elegant cloth covered white buttons. Likely dating from the turn of the 20th century this precious little christening gown is in impeccable condition!
