A splendid set of three fancy linen guest hand towels to dress up the boudoir! These stunning towels are loomed of an extremely silken pure white linen damask with an delicate "oeil de perdrix," or partridge eye motif in the damask. A stunning monogram, "AD," is exquisitely embroidered at one end in an important relief of bourdon and adorned with lovely little embroidered flower sprays. At each extremity, and underscoring the monogram, the towels have a pretty damask band with a leaf motif and the extremities terminate in long, hand knotted silky fringes. Likely dating from the latter part of the 19th century, these lovely towels are in impeccable condition! Dimensions: 38 x 27.5in. plus 4in fringe at each extremity
