A rare, truly antique service likely dating from the early 19th century, this elegant formal damask tablecloth with its twelve matching napkins is hand loomed of a supple and textured eggshell white linen damask. The damask features a very pretty overall floral motif of roses framed by a double border in the same motif but with larger flowers. A single, very fine and discreet monogram, JD, embroidered in pinkish red needlepoint adorns the center of the cloth and each of the napkins. The twelve napkins are loomed of the same damask but feature a single floral border. All of the pieces have hand rolled and stitched hems and the service is in impeccable condition! Dimensions: tablecloth 86.5in. x 63in., napkins 32in. x 28in.
