A simply stunning piece of work this lovely sheet is loomed of a weighty and excellent quality of ecru "fil de lin" linen. The remarkable hand of the embroideress is manifest in the beautiful and skillfully executed central monogram, "JS," embroidered in a high relief of padded bourdon, post point, tige point and English cutwork and embellished with flowering vines bearing fat little berries. A lacy row of fancy drawn thread embroidery runs along the entire width of the return border as well as a full 36 inches of its height on either side. This wonderful piece is in perfectly new and flawless condition, having likely never been used and washed once in my care to freshen it up after many years of storage in an armoire.
