Crowned by a count! A supremely elegant set of two pure white linen damask guest hand towels with the distinction of bearing the crown of a count. These towels, loomed of an extremely refined medium weight and silky grade of "fil de lin" linen damask, have a small and perfectly accomplished monogram "LN" embroidered in bourdon with the nine pointed comtal crown just above. A pretty scrolling motif in the damask frames the towels while their central area is loomed of a subtly textured "pique." The top and bottom edges are finely hemstitched and the lengthwise edges are selvedged. Early 20th c. Dimensions: 32.5 x 27.5in.
