Superlative quality for this stately set of twelve very large pure white linen damask napkins. This service is loomed of a weighty and very finely woven linen with a slight sheen and smooth texture. Each napkin displays an overall dotted motif in the damask with a highly stylized Greek key-like border frame and an embroidered monogram, "BC," executed in a high relief of bourdon and contained in a medallion of post point. The monograms are not central but situated in the lower half of the lengthwise dimension of the napkins, which in turn makes this set quite suitable for an alternate use as decorative hand towels as they can be folded in this lengthwise sense such that the monograms appear at the bottom edge when hung or placed on a countertop.
