A charming pillow sham loomed of a very fine blend of pale ecru "fil de lin" linen and cotton. This pretty sham has a very large fancy central monogram, "JL," embroidered in an important relief of bourdon and post point and embellished with sprays of embroidered lilies of the valley. A hand embroidered scalloped ruffle adds a lovely feminine touch to the border. This sham is slightly smaller than a standard euro sham and likely served as a central throw pillow. Closure at the back with four white glass buttons. Early to mid 20th c. Impeccable condition. Dimensions: exterior 24 x 23in., interior 19.5 x 18.5in.
