A superlative antique pillow sham loomed of a pure white and silken "fil de lin" linen. A handsome monogram "TC" is embroidered in one corner in an important relief of bourdon and embellished with tiny sprigs of embroidered berries. Each corner of the sham is occupied by a floral spray, exquisitely executed in bourdon and tige point, with delicate tendrils that wind their way outward along a fancy crossed drawn thread row. A second smaller drawn thread row defines the border. This beautiful pillow sham likely dates from the early 20th century and is in impeccable condition.
