linen tea tablecloth and napkin set monogram HG

linen tea tablecloth and napkin set monogram HG

A small gem of a tea tablecloth and eleven napkin service loomed of an exquisite quality of pure white linen 'granit?' with elegant openwork embroidery that frames the perimeter of each piece. The linen derives its name from its delicate, slightly textured surface. A whimsical and elegant art deco style monogram that could stand for either the initial "MG" or "HG," is embroidered in red in one corner of the tablecloth as well as on each of the napkins and all the pieces are edged with a long silky fringe. This charming service, certainly dating from the early 20th century, is in impeccable condition. The tablecloth could serve as a cloth for a small table or equally as a table topper for a much larger table, especially given that it has its full service of ten matching napkins. Dimensions: tablecloth 43.5 x 35.5 plus 4in. fringe, napkins 14 x 13.5in. plus 2in. fringe
