A supremely delicate antique infant dress created in pure silk ecru tulle. This splendid piece is entirely hand embroidered in ecru silk thread with festoons of flowers that border the skirt, the sleeves, and the charming little capelet that drapes over the shoulders. Both the hem of the dress and the borders of the capelet and sleeves are finished in a hand embroidered scalloped edge. A very fine silk cord fastens in a tiny bow at the neckline. Likely dating from the mid to late 19th century this dress is in very good condition, showing only three pinpoint darns in the tulle skirt which would be invisible to the eye once worn above an undergarment. (Possibility of adding a custom silk lining for an additional $85) Dimensions: length 19in., width across chest 12in., width at base of skirt 25in. Suitable for an infant of 18 to 24 months old.
