An unusual service of twelve large antique linen damask napkins with an overall motif of birds! This beautiful set is loomed of a silken, medium weight, pale ecru linen damask with a fancy monogram "MM" (or possibly "RM") embroidered in a fancy scrolling bourdon in the upper right corner of each piece. A motif of perched birds occupies the center of the napkins and a frieze of lovebirds atop their nest frames the border. This service likely dates from the early 20th century, is hand hemmed and in impeccable, as-new condition. Its pale ecru color will likely whiten with subsequent launderings. Dimensions: 30.5 x 26in.
