Rare to find in so perfect a state this splendid bolster sham is loomed of a pure white and airy linen batiste. A magnificent ruffle bordered by a wide scalloped bobbin lace with a pretty floral motif surrounds the entire sham. The surface is decorated with three bands of inset bobbin lace with an identical floral motif and two stunning monograms, "RM," embroidered at each extremity in the finest execution of bourdon and post point and accented with tiny flowers. Twelve small mother-of-pearl button closures run the lenth of the back of the sham. Dating likely from the late 19th to early 20th century and truly an exceptional piece for both its beauty and its quality, this sham is in perfect condition!
