A pair of antique pillow shams of exceptional quality and refinement! These lovely shams are loomed of a pure white, tightly loomed and very silken "fil de lin" linen. In each of their four corners a spray of forget-me-nots is hand embroidered in bourdon and tige point with an exquisite finesse and a rare relief. The shams are bordered by a large, hand embroidered scalloped edge, unusual for its wave-like form, and they close at the back with five tiny mother-of-pearl buttons. This beautiful pair of pillow shams likely dates from the turn of the 20th century and is in impeccable condition. Dimensions: interior 25 x24.5in., exterior 30 x 29.5in.
