An exquisite vintage Christening gown in embroidered cream colored tulle with its matching long satin underslip. This stunning gown is highwaisted and densely embroidered throughout its long tulle skirt with flowers. The bodice, also in cream colored tulle, has long puffed sleeves, a tiny ruffled tulle collar, and is ringed with embroidered flowers that pick up the floral motif of the skirt. All the seams of the dress are finished in delicate openwork hemstitching and the hem of the skirt has a lovely scalloped ruffled edge. Two tiny snaps close at the back. This beautiful Christening gown likely dates from the 1930's to 1940's and is in excellent condition save for a pinpoint repair in the tulle bodice. The underslip shows a few scattered pinholes. Dimensions: overall length 36in., width across the chest 9.5in., width between the shoulders 7in.
