A superb service of three guest hand towels in fine white linen elegantly monogrammed "S." These lovely towels are loomed of a pure white, silky and supple linen damask with an "oeil de perdrix" (eye of the partridge) motif in the weave. A red floral damask band decorates each extremity along with a soft fringed border, and a single monogram "S" is embroidered in red chainstitch at one end with tiny floral accents. All four edges are defined by a fine red damask stripe with a diamond motif. The service likely dates from the early 20th century and is in perfectly new, never used condition and washed just once to freshen them up. Dimensions: 35.5 x 25in. plus 2in. fringe
