A stunning service of twelve large dinner napkins in a beautifully soft champagne colored linen damask. These lovely napkins have a jewel-like central monogram, "MM," embroidered in a very fine plumetis and post point and encased in an embroidered scalloped oval. The linen is a silky and luxurious damask featuring a border with festoons of roses, a floral central medallion, delicate laurel wreaths, and a pretty open-work Greek key motif which is subtly picked up in miniature in the central oval. The lateral hems are elegantly finished with drawn thread ladderwork. This service, very likely dating from the early Art Deco period of the beginning of the 20th century, is in impeccable as-new condition. Dimensions: 28.5 x 25in.
