An extremely elegant sheet and two pillow sham ensemble monogrammed "TH" or "HT" and loomed of a pristine and pure white "fil de lin" linen. This stunning set has a wide band of inset hand made Venetian lace with a stylized floral motif that runs the entire width of the sheet return as well as up the sides for a full 32 inches, underscored by a hand made row of drawn thread ladderwork. The shams have matching inset lace in one upper corner. All of the monograms are also hand done in Venetian lace, one in the center of the sheet and two smaller versions in one corner of each of the shams. The linen is weighty, very tightly loomed and extremely supple and fluid. A delicate hemstitch finishes the foot of the sheet and the shams close at the back with three tiny white glass buttons. This very refined ensemble likely dates from the early 20th century and is in impeccable, as-new condition. Of note: the backs of the shams are made of a fine cotton.
