A stunning antique banquet tablecloth rare not only for its beauty but also for its spectacular dimensions and new, never-used condition! This beautiful tablecloth, measuring over 20 feet in length, is loomed of a luxuriously weighty but finely woven creamy ecru linen damask with an overall motif of ears of wheat. Ideal for Thanksgiving holiday feasts, the wheat ear motif symbolizes the harvest, prosperity and abundance, and these appear in bouquets throughout the surface of the tablecloth, with a contrasting wheat ear motif forming an outer frieze and an elegant Greek key and laurel border at the edges. Picking up on the damask motif, in the center of the cloth are two large and beautiful two-letter monograms positioned in mirror image, "PR," the letters exquisitely embroidered in bourdon and fashioned from ears of wheat. This splendid cloth, truly magnificent in every way, was in new condition at the time of its purchase and has only been washed once to freshen it up. Likely dating from the latter part of the 19th century it remains in perfectly impeccable, as-new condition. Dimensions: 246 x 65in. OF NOTE: I possess in my inventory a service of 12 napkins with a wheat ear motif in the damask as well as embroidered "PR" monograms which, like those on the tablecloth, incorporate ears of wheat in their design. These napkins are not an identical match however they coordinate very well with the tablecloth. Details and photos available upon request.
