A simple but very pretty pair of pillow shams monogrammed "DA" in one corner. The monograms are executed in a scrolling script and embroidered meticulously in an important relief of bourdon, accented by little embroidered dots. These lovely shams are loomed of a very tightly woven, excellent quality and heavy weight "fil de lin" linen which is known as "lin gris" or grey linen. Lin gris is typically grown in Belgium and is known to be among the finest grades of linen that exist. Its slightly pearl grey tint whitens over time with repeated launderings. The shams close at the back with five mother-of-pearl buttons and are in perfectly new, never used condition. Dimensions: interior, 26 x 24in., exterior 27.5 x 25.5in.
