A beautiful pair of pillow shams loomed of a pure white and very fine "fil de lin" linen with a jewel-like monogram, "RT" executed in a very fine bourdon embroidery in a bed of seed stitch points and framed in a plumetis circle. These lovely shams are framed with three concentric drawn thread rows of embroidery, of which the central row is executed in a very fancy fantasy stitch. Closure at the back with five mother-of-pearl button. Early to mid 20th century. Impeccable condition. Dimensions: interior 25 x 24.5in., exterior 29 x 28.5in.
