A fresh and lovely pair of pure white "fil de lin" linen pillow shams with a fancy central monogram "AL" embroidered in an important relief of bourdon and accented with a little embroidered daisy. A motif of daisies carries through to the embroidery in each of the four corners as well as all throughout the scalloped edge where perfectly executed flowers are interspersed with tiny polka dots. These very pretty shams likely date from the early to mid 20th century and are in impeccable condition. They close at the back with six mother-of-pearl buttons.
