A fresh and exquisite pair of pillow shams loomed of a superbly fine pure white "fil de lin" linen. These pretty shams each have a luscious large central monogram, "GV," exquisitely embroidered in a scrolling script in bourdon and accented with jewel-like flowers and leaves. A delicate scalloped border finishes the edges with a hand embroidered single flower in each of the scallops. Closure at the back with five tiny mother-of-pearl buttons. This pair of shams likely dates from the late 19th to early 20th century and is in impeccable condition. Dimensions: interior 26.5 x 25in., exterior 28.5 x 27in.
