A lovely pair of pillow shams in a wonderfully supple and silken pure white "fil de lin" linen. This pretty pair of shams is meticulously crafted and entirely hand made. Two rows of drawn thread reticello embroidery frame the border, the inner row a fancy double row with tiny stars embroidered in each corner and the outer one a simpler single row. The shams close at the back with five mother-of-pearl buttons. Likely dating from the early to mid 20th century they are in perfectly new, never used condition. Dimensions: interior 25.5 x 25.5in., exterior 29.5 x 29.5in.
