A delicate and beautiful piece of embroidered linen lawn that probably served as a boudoir pillow cover. This lovely work is loomed of a champagne colored extremely fine lawn linen with a motif of ribbons, bows and flowers executed in Richelieu and English cut-work embroidery. A broad ruffle in tulle with two rows of hand made Valenciennes lace borders the piece. Dating likely from the end of the 19th century this piece is in excellent condition save for a few tiny pinholes in the tulle (see photos). Dimensions: 28.5 x 26.5in.
