A stunning pair of pillow shams monogrammed "RR" and loomed of pure white "fil de lin" linen. These lovely shams are elegantly bordered with Renaissance cutwork embroidery in a motif of stylized roses with a delicate hemstitch defining the inner border. The monogram, embroidered in one corner in an important relief of bourdon, is also stylized and framed by a ring of raised polka dots with a single rose at its base. Five mother-of-pearl buttons close at the back. These splendid shams likely date from the early 20th century and are in impeccable, as-new condition.
