A truly lovely pair of antique pillow shams loomed of a fine pure white cotton elaborately embroidered on all four sides. This pretty pair of shams has a fancy monogram, "EP," embroidered in one corner in an important relief of bourdon. A floral motif in Richelieu cutwork adorns each of the four corners and a delicate frame of tiny embroidered dots borders the envelope. The outer edges are finished with a delicate bobbin lace trim and five mother-of-pearl buttons fasten at the back. This pretty pair of shams likely dates from the early to mid 20th century and are in impeccable condition. Dimensions: interior 23.5 x 22in., exterior 29 x 27.5in.
