An elegantly sober service of 12 very pretty napkins loomed of a pure white linen "granite," a linen with a gently pebbled weave. These lovely napkins are initialed in their center with a stunning monogram, "SG," finely embroidered in bourdon and filled in with tiny seed-stitch points. The napkin borders are finished with a fancy row of crossed drawn-thread embroidery on all four sides. Typical of the Napoleon III era table linens of the 1860's and 70's, this antique service remains in impeccable, as-new condition! Dimensions: 27 x 27in.
