An elegantly tailored service of eleven very large dinner napkins with an important central monogram "CP." These beautiful napkins are loomed of a weighty ecru pure linen damask with an overall motif of open faced flowers. The monogram, large and beautifully embroidered in germanic style letters in a very important relief of bourdon, is set within an ornamental rectangular frame in the damask motif. The decorative element of the frame is picked up again in a border frieze which finsishes the edges of each napkin. The hems are hand sewn with miniscule stitches. Likely dating from the late 19th century, this handsome service is in impeccable condition. Dimensions: 33.5 x 26in.
