A very pretty pair of antique pillow shams monogramed "DC." These lovely shams are loomed of a bright white and crisp blend of "fil de lin" linen and cotton. The monograms are finely embroidered in a nice relief of bourdon and accented with exquisite little flowers and trailing vines. Two very fine rows of crossed drawn thread embroidery outline the sham with bouquets of embroidered flowers between the two rows in each of the corners. Each sham closes at the back with five tiny mother-of-pearl buttons. Likely dating from the early 20th century these lovely shams are in as-new, impeccable condition. Dimensions: interior 26.5 x 25in., exterior 29.5 x 28in.
